About the Fabric

Matka silk is known for its characteristic slubbed texture and naturally uneven surface, giving every saree a distinctive handcrafted appearance. The fabric is breathable, comfortable and has enough structure to create an elegant drape.

The Jamdani motifs are woven directly into the fabric using a supplementary-weft technique. They are woven details—not embroidery or prints. Minor variations in the weave and texture are natural characteristics of a handwoven saree and should not be considered defects.
