About the Fabric
Matka silk is known for its characteristic slubbed texture and naturally uneven surface, giving every saree a distinctive handcrafted appearance. The fabric is breathable, comfortable and has enough structure to create an elegant drape.
The Jamdani motifs are woven directly into the fabric using a supplementary-weft technique. They are woven details—not embroidery or prints. Minor variations in the weave and texture are natural characteristics of a handwoven saree and should not be considered defects.
Care Instructions
• Dry cleaning is recommended
• Do not machine wash
• Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric
• Dry in the shade and protect from direct sunlight
• Iron on low heat from the reverse side
• Store folded in a clean muslin or cotton cloth
• Air the saree occasionally during long-term storage
Please Note
The saree is slightly transparent due to the nature of the weave. The actual colour may vary slightly depending on lighting, photography and individual screen settings.
